Thoughts on Preventing Alzheimer’s Disease

Fran’s mom’s memories have slowly been slipping away recently.   She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s this year.  It seems to be chewing away her connections to her friends and family.  She has days where everything is great, but many where she gets a little confused.  Her doctors require her to have 24 hour care.  She cannot be by herself because of the danger of her falling or wandering off.  It is heart breaking.  Both her condition and the general family behavior disturbs me. I would really like to think that the family could help more and give more, but they are grieving their mom’s loss too.  I sat down and put together some thoughts on the disease and a little of what I had read in preventing it.  I put it on Squidoo at:  http://www.squidoo.com/Alzheimers_Battling_The_Darkness
